The Language of Your City
Steve Sjogren
The Language of Your City Did you realize your city has an entirely unique language? I'm not referring to catch phrases nor unique expressions. There is an emotional language of your city. In fact, there are various people groups in your city -- the specific people you are being called to love, to deeply connect with. You can't connect if you don't speak their language. . . . keep reading
"Excuse" Prayer
Steve Sjogren
"Excuse" Prayer I used to use the word "success" flippantly to describe what I one day realized was really longevity. What most of us are really aiming for is long term fruit - something that will endure for the long haul. So how do we gain longevity in ministry? . . . keep reading
The Essentials for Making Your Life Count
Steve Sjogren
The Essentials for Making Your Life Count Some speak with great conviction about the need to have the "God shaped void filled in our hearts" in order to come to peace. I believe there are other issues that lie at a deeper level than simply that, however. Namely, we all aspire to our lives count for something. We all want to see our lives change the world in a dynamic way. . . . keep reading
Explaining What We Do With Others
Explaining What We Do With Others Recently someone told me they had an opportunity to convey to their church the message of sharing God's love as an opportunity to their congregation. The Pathetic Segmented Life: Why People Stay Away from Church by the Droves
Steve Sjogren
The Pathetic Segmented Life: Why People Stay Away from Church by the Droves One of Mahatma Gandhi's more famous quotes was supposedly spoken to a group of British journalists as they rode on a train through English-held India. He was asked, "Why is it that you speak so highly of Jesus yet you are not a Christian?" He quickly responded, "I would become a Christian… if I could just find one…" . . . keep reading

Empowering Shy People To Do Effective Outreach
Steve Sjogren
Empowering Shy People To Do Effective Outreach How you connect with shy people in doing evangelism is an important juncture to take with your church. Why? The majority of people who attend your church are categorically shy. It is vital that you and I learn to encourage shy people into an approach to outreach that is attainable. How do we encourage shy people to find their way forward in evangelism? . . . keep reading
Six Questions About Doing Outreach In Smaller Towns
Steve Sjogren
Six Questions About Doing Outreach In Smaller Towns I was recently in the New England area of the U.S. I have been pondering lately the unique aspects of doing ministry in smaller population areas like that. There are many aspects of doing outreach that are universal - as we step out to serve others we are going to find that people are pretty much the same everywhere. At the same time, there are unique features present when we are aiming at people in these areas. What do we need to keep in mind as we reach out in to rural people? . . . keep reading
Upbuilding Your Volunteer Force
Steve Sjogren
Upbuilding Your Volunteer Force Without a doubt, the forward progress of your church is tightly connected with your ability to stir up a cadre of volunteers. It is difficult to maintain volunteers even under the best of circumstances. Most of the time it is challenging to work effectively with volunteers. No matter what price you pay to work with your volunteers it is worth the price of admission to connect with these vital people. . . . keep reading
Avoid Burnout: Don't Make Growth Your Motivation for Serving
Steve Sjogren
Avoid Burnout: Don't Make Growth Your Motivation for Serving Without all serving being translated into a lifestyle of generosity, kindness and service pretty quickly, the "program" of serving will annihilate your people's natural, God-given yearning to be outward. I can guarantee you the family farm on this one. Without that essential leap, the "program" will destroy the pure desire of your people. . . . keep reading

 TESTIMONIALS
Here's what people are saying...
ServeCoach has been indispensable in helping us lead the church to be more outward focused. The interviews, resources, ideas have all generated an excitement about "showing God's love in practical ways, no strings attached" by doing acts of kindness. Keep up the good work.

Here's the deal. I was really feeling defeated and bummed. I got connected to this website and I feel like I've been revived. I felt like there was only one other person in my entire church that really understood how I was feeling because he was feeling the same way. I watched an interview and am working on another one and boy was it just what I needed to see and hear. I had all but given up, but now I have renewed hope and I'm hanging in there! So thanks Serve Coach team!

Whether you're just starting out or have been doing outreach for years, ServeCoach is a fantastic site. There are so many resources and ideas, I can barely keep up. I first joined thinking I would look through everything, get what I needed, and cancel after a month.  But ServeCoach has proven to have much more than I thought, and very valuable to the ministry I serve in.

Steve Sjogren has been coaching leaders for as long as I’ve known him over twenty-plus years. He’s a catalytic leader, challenging “status quo” views of everything from church growth to evangelism methodologies to leadership paradigms.

Steve’s hyper-creativity and genuine love for “not-yet-believers” provide the one-two punch for effective ministry. I’ll never forget the words of a churchplanter who once told me, “After spending time with Steve, I always feel more courageous!”

And who wouldn’t want to be mentored by The Father of Servant Evangelism?

I first heard of Steve Sjogren when my wife read his first book, Conspiracy of Kindness and got fired up about water giveaways and it ignited us to find more ways to serve our community and the people around us. We just got our hands on anything that would be of a value to anyone else and gave it away - Just to show God's love in a practical way and told people, if there is anything you need let us know - no strings attached... and here we are, 14 years later! That is a timeless truth - Showing God's love in practical ways with no strings attached.

Steve has helped create this culture of serving - doing what it takes to show people God's love in practical ways. We have seen a lot of people come to Christ and made the decision to cross that line in faith... I think this is due to people getting outside the walls of the church and these creative serving ideas - a lot of them came right out of things that Steve has taught us. Just reaching into the community and making a difference. We get up in the morning thinking about who is hurting, who has loss, who is going through something and how can we figure out a way to let them know that they matter to God. That is what Servant Evangelism is all about!

Steve’s out-of-the-box thinking and decades of real-world practice makes him a Christian leader worth listening to. Pay attention to Steve; the church will never be the same.

I’ve known Steve Sjogren for over two decades as a friend, a very successful church planter, and a massively influential leader not only among American churches, but across the world.

Steve’s passionate focus on moving the church outward into the community and his contagious enthusiasm for reaching lost people has influenced my life and the lives of thousands of other pastors and leaders.

Steve’s out-of-the-box thinking and decades of real-world practice makes him a Christian leader worth listening to.  Pay attention to Steve; the church will never be the same.
