What To Say During Outreach
Steve Sjogren - March 12, 2010

When we step out to serve strangers there are many things we can say.  Here are some openers to get you started:

Hi! We're giving away ___________ for free today!  Totally free!  No strings attached! (or washing windsheilds, giving away smoke detector batteries, etc)

We are just trying to show God's love in a practical way.

We think if Jesus were around today, He might be doing something like this. It's kind of a modern day version of (a foot washing) or serving others.

It's our way of showing God's love in a practical way, no strings attached.

We just wanted to introduce ourselves to the neighborhood.  Our church meets in this area. Here is a little gift from us to you.

We don't accept donations, we're trying to change the common view that Christians are always asking for money. Really--it's free.

We are doing a service project to show God's love in a practical way!We have a free gift for you!

Our church has a high value for serving the community, and we do it in all kinds of ways:

  • We wash cars
  • We give out cold water bottles when it's hot
  • We give away microwave popcorn
  • We give away mints at Valentine's Day
  • We give away candy and gum to workers at stores
  • We give away doughnuts on Christmas Eve to people who have to work...

Our pastor is teaching us how to walk our talk, not just say love but to show love in a practical way.

Free candy!  God bless!

God wanted you to know that He loves you today.
